THE    BEDROOM  By, Kaity C.

This is just one of the two bedrooms in the Shippen Manor. Although the bedrooms are both moderate sizes, they were considered quite large in much earlier years.

This picture was taken of a hair wreath, on display on top of the bedroom’s dresser. The ornament in the middle of the wreath contains locks of original, curly blonde hair. To whom the hair belongs to is not known.

This is an antique rope bed. It was mainly used for sleeping by the adults living in the household. When guests were at the manor, they were expected to sleep downstairs, at times perhaps even on the floor.

As you look through the doorway into the hallway, you notice a room across from the bedroom. Outside of the doorway and to the left is a window. The bedroom and hallway are found on the second floor and have a spectacular view. The bedroom also contains a window. It overlooks the road and the manor’s  giant, green lawn.

This picture is found on the bedroom’s wall. It shows a woman holding a child. Though it is not certain how old it is, it’s  frame is antique. You can find it to the left of the bedroom’s doorway.
