THE KITCHEN

The kitchen can be found across from the dining room. It is just one of the two kitchens in the house. The other kitchen can be found in the cellar. It was used by servants. The household family used the upstairs kitchen.

The picture above shows just a few of the items found on the family’s kitchen table. The items include: handmade soap, sugar, a teacup, and a whisk broom. The handmade soap is featured above. It has a horrid smell, and is nothing like modern day soap. The sugar in the picture above is showed in a clump. You would break a small amount off to use it. Salt also used to come in small clumps. The tea is also unusual. It used to come in square block shapes with designs on them.
