Study
This was a very small room that my classmate Hilary and I explored.  As we learned, this was where Mr. Shippen did all of his daily reading.  This was also a common place for the furnace workers to have a conversation with Mr. Shippen.  The room has a Dutch door that leads outside, so the workers are able to speak to the manager without bothering the rest of the family.  There are also 2 maps of Belvedere (1856) and Oxford (1778).  Despite the room’s small size, it was a very interesting room.

This door is actually two doors: a top and a bottom.  The furnace workers would open the top half so the rest of the family isn’t disturbed.
