BEHAVIOR AND EFFORT RULES
1. Every
student can earn a “Daily Credit” in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Each room will have a chart posted for every
class that meets in that room.
2. Any
day that a student’s behavior and work effort reaches or exceeds the minimum
standard in that class, the student is awarded a “Daily Credit”. (Four per day, one from each teacher)
3. “Bruin
Bucks” can be issued to any student, at any time, for demonstrating an “extra
effort” or positive behavior. A “Bruin
Buck” can be issued by any staff member of
4. Every
five “Bruin Bucks” can be converted into a “Daily Credit” on any one chart.
5. Any
student, for any reason, who must serve an office detention will lose a “Daily
Credit” from all charts.
6. Any
student who is suspended will lose three credits from all charts and is not
eligible to receive any credits while suspended.
7. Any
student who is suspended more than once in any marking period will lose three
credits times the number of suspensions for that marking period.
8. At
the end of the marking period, the total number of credits is added up and an
overall average is struck. Any student
with an average of 87% or greater is eligible to participate in the marking
period reward.
9. At
the end of THIRD MARKING PERIOD, the overall average is determined and any
student whose Behavior and Effort grade is 87% or higher is eligible to
participate on the Class Trip.
10. At
the end of the FOURTH MARKING PERIOD, the total number of credits is added up
and an overall average is struck. Any
student with an average of 87% or greater is eligible to participate in Field
Day activities.
11. The
school administration reserves the right to revoke any student from
participating on any class trip for a discipline reason at any time.
